Funnily enough it was the Fiji Banded Iguana that was originally on my list. But last minute I heard about this one and checked out what all the fuss was about and...yeah its a pretty cool lizard! Still love Banded, but Crested took this spot

Day 255 of #photoaday

No self-respecting Victorian dinner table would be complete without some pharaoh-headed salt cellars!

Ah, capybara. The biggest, chillest rat of the swamps. Besides being a birthday request, I had to make it a lil special and give it a little pond! Its a capybara! It deserves it. Seeing capybaras gives me great joy, and turns out so does drawing them!

Day 254 of #photoaday

A striking piece of 1930s glass jewellery featuring an Egyptian queen.

Its a magma snake on fire. Need I say more? Okay fine, I love a good fire themed animal. That's why I threw a few infernal creatures in this month. Why September? Because its too hot. Maybe if we get all the fire out I can have a cool October! Wishful thinking

Day 253 of #photoaday

An Edwardian tomb, heavy metal music, and ancient Egypt!

Another HTTYD dragon! How could I resist one of my favorites? Besides, Morpho was another classic from School of Dragons that I've always wanted to draw. Despite the name, she is not blue because young me didn't care about continuity. Oops. Pretty dragon tho!

Day 252 of #photoaday

A box from the Victorian “tobacco blenders to the nobility” capitalising on the London elite’s love of Egypt

Lizard? Dragon? Why not both! And given that I'm following this with an actual dragon, it's strangely fitting. But yes, I love a sailfin dragon, I love a sail in general. I'm in fact weak for a sail, and I can't wait to do the colors for it! One day...

Day 251 of #photoaday

One of the newer objects in the collection is Mattel’s Monster High doll based on the ancient Queen Cleopatra

Big water bug! See if it was small, I'd hate this. But its giant and cool so we're chill. And the Grave Keeper from Endless Ocean is such a fun, rusty, oxidized design. And it's a big cute bug, so win-win.

Day 250 of #photoaday

A mid-century baked clay shabti figurine made for the tourist market

#365days #365daychallenge #365photodaychallenge #Egypt #ancientEgypt

A new creature type emerges! Which is pretty much just random infernal creatures. And first up is the firefly canary! Inspired by the mines, of course. A black, ashen bird with bright glowing markings! Will I be able to execute said glow? ...Future me's problem!

Day 249 of #photoaday

A mid-century plate with the gilt design of a triumphant pharaoh wearing the blue war crown - possibly Ramses the Great

Its Hummingbird Day! We know I couldn't stop at one. But the wind chime is special because it hung in front of my house for years until an actual hummingbird nested there and raised two little chicks right in front of our door! Very fitting!

An 1830s coffee pot with a combination of classical and Egyptian designs and close links to the battle of the Nile

Week 36 #caturday #365days Baby always keeps one eye open just in case. Be prepared!

Of course I made a raptor creature Seasonal too. Because look at it! Dragon raptor! It won't be the colorful version but it will be my favorite version. I just love how I did this morph. But coloring is future me's problem! There's one more Seasonal for Fall!
