Big #PeterMax fan here. "His colorful, psychedelic pop art expressed the optimism of the “flower power” movement of the '60s & graced everything from postage stamps to a cruise ship, has died at 88, his son said in a statement Wed. No cause given, but he had been suffering from advanced dementia."

RIP #PeterMax. The iconic 60s-70s counter-culture artist has passed on. You know his style even if his name isn't familiar. Loved his work. ☮️ ✌️

#RIP #PeterMax, you were a true believer in 60s #hip and I will miss you 🙏 www.nytimes.com/2026/09/16/a...

Rest in Peace, #PeterMax
The iconic 60’s #FlowerPower artist has died at age 88. His colorful & optimistic artwork saw wild commercial success, gracing everything from cruise ships & airplanes to a U.S. postage stamp. Max’s family fled Nazi Germany when he was a baby.

#ВечнаяПамять. Легенда 😭
Шикарная выставка была в конце 80х на Пречистенке/тогда Кропоткинской/ в #мск
Последние годы был в маразме, к сожалению. Семья пыталась через суд сдать в приют, но проиграла

Gift article 🎁 of the NY Times #PeterMax obit : #ripPeterMax

Peter Max, whose trippy posters of Day-Glo flowers, butterflies, rainbows, stars and planets sold by the millions and expressed the blissed-out exuberance of the countercultural 1960s, died on Monday in Manhattan. He was 88.

. . . here’s a fitting musical accompaniment to the above #ripPeterMax post with three #PeterMax posters:

The Beatles : “Flying” (Magical Mystery Tour, 1967)

Just saw the news that the great psychedelic, day-glow graphic artist whose trippy art and posters defined much of the late 1960s counterculture has passed at 88. His art fired my imagination and defined my sense of cool as a little kid.
