63' I really thought Rose Lavelle was going to crank that, but maybe she didn't think she had the look at it.

@lhenry019.bsky.socialAlso, missed it at halftime due to the frantic start but both teams made one substitution apiece.
Gisele Thompson replaced Avery Patterson at left back for #USWNT.
Clara Serrajordi replaced goalscorer Patri Guijarro for Spain.

@ajsportstat.bsky.socialThe #USWNT get a chance thanks to some clever interplay with Sophia Wilson and Lily Yohannes. Spanish keeper Adriana Nanclares fumbles the shot, but the home side commits a foul while hunting for the second ball.
@jtannenwald.bsky.socialAnother rule broken: When the goalkeeper spills the ball, thou shalt not let the rebound go to waste. #USWNT
@rathjen.usnot even close, in hindsight #uswnt
@jvsylvester.bsky.social#USWNT Frustrating, this game is closer than the 2-0 score implies.
@cjzero.bsky.socialSophia Wilson thought she had one back for the #USWNT but it's offside
@pcattry.bsky.socialthe #USWNT thought they had a goal back courtesy of Sophia Wilson, VAR said otherwise but the point stands - Wilson really is back like she never left and has probably been the brightest spot for the hosts thus far
@equalpitchfootball.bsky.socialClose!!
#SophiaWilson thought she pulled a goal back for the #USWNT but she’s ruled offside.
Like it or not, it is what it is.

@jtmatias.bsky.socialYes! Quick US passing breaks down Spain's midfield and tees up Sophia to get one back! #USWNT #AudiField #BringonSandman
@lhenry019.bsky.socialSophia Wilson scores with a nice finish into the far corner to trim the #USWNT's deficit to 2-1 but Spain were arguing that Wilson was offsides. After review, the goal was wiped off by VAR. We're still at 2-0 to Spain.
