The Royals, of course, have the finest clothes, and dress however they damn well want. #Septopolis
This city is as yet pre-industrial, so most people are going to make their clothes at home, or have a local make them, and they're pretty simple. The general attitude of "don't draw attention" means a lot more muted colors than you might find elsewhere - colorful, but not bright.

It makes them money, and none of them know the first thing about agriculture. But the heads of the Coffee Families are allies to the Royals, who are more than happy to give them what they want in return for more tax income from the beans. #Septopolis
A little Googling tells me that volcanic soil is great for crops, though, so I think they have thriving agriculture. Coffee, perhaps (yes, I'm thinking of Hawaii). Yeah, let's say coffee is something this place does really well.
This is the kind of prompt that weeds out the weak and feeble; I support it. Everybody poops, so let's talk about sewage!
Well, we'll get there. For now, water supply. This is a desert setting; the absence of water is the most defining factor of all.

#Septopolis 18: Water
Eshuun is built next to a river, which provides fresh water, and it also uses underground sources of water which it pumps, using solar and worker power, into the nom's hydroclasts and pipes.
Sewage contains valuable fertilizer cycled through filtration into the fungal farms.

#TheDragonblood: Zonhaspalis might collect some rainwater, since I don't think it'd be high enough above the clouds to avoid it entirely. There might be weather magic that collects the water directly from the clouds without actually letting them rain overhead.

18: Freeport is one of several places in Karnassia (co-created with @jmaxwell-author.bsky.social) that has a more extensive sewer system (the others being Vizrala and Atmoriel) that is beneath the city that manages biological waste. Water is predominantly from rivers and streams that...

Water mostly comes from the giant (>4km across), surprisingly clean river running through the middle of the city. there is some prior treatment (to get the usual river stuff out of it) and it's pumped through the river, so there's tap water in most parts of the city.

Potable water is easy: wells. The city is on the shore of a crater lake with about the same area and volume of Lake Ontario. So the water table is easy to get to, and there are lots of wells and public fountains—which is great, because drinking directly from the lake is not advisable. ⬇️

... waste treatment and power generation is usually done by Flake powered technologies that are more efficient than stuff we use here on earth. Especially Flake power generation and power cells, which is like Star Trek level stuff.

Along with the Vein network, there's also a complicated water network flowing throughout the caverns of Ommadiell, but water can be a bit scarce at times with how weather patterns are so different from earth. That being said, water treatment, ... (1/

Good morning, #Septopolis.
All the "boring" stuff no one wants to think about... but it's so essential!
Is water as simple as a stream? Or do they have magic/tech desalination readily available? What's done with garbage and biological waste? Do they have electricity or some kind of equivalent?
Hello #Septopolis!
While being one of the larger cities of Wardenreach, Winterstone isn't so big you'd need much transportation inside the walls. Most goods are delivered by hand or ox cart.
What is interesting is the Bronzerun River, where river ships dock to trade with Bronzebreak in the east.

Alkesh has a variety of transportation options. Many people own cars or trucks. Taxi or "Maze Car" services are also available. The most used by those in the city center is a (1/4)
Great question! So Hell is vast and multi-layered, but I have no idea how it got that way…basically, I now know I need to do more research. 😅

Most transportation is ship based in and out of Belaqua, given that it's a peninsula. There is one long boring country road out to southern Gaelle, near the border of Tianzo, which is how Gaellans would get there. For the most part Tianzans would get in a boat instead.

On Venus, most transit is public. Multi-passenger fixed-wing aircraft travel between the floating cities, with varying fees. Trams within each city are generally free, though people tend to walk a lot as well, unless going up or down multiple levels. [1/3]

There’s plenty of options for getting around Reyfell. Cars, known as autos on Nixtral, are the prominent mode of transport.
There is also a robust public trolley system that stretches over the entire city. In fact, one of Reyfell’s nicknames is ‘The City Rolling Upon the Hills.’
