I've got to say though, use your words, people. Show people you care with your authentic actions, but tell your people they're your people. There's power in giving them the words to play back when they need them, and you never know who might need them.

There are about a dozen people I know I could pick up the phone to and say, I need your help, and they would be there no questions asked. Every one of them knows they can rely on me the same way, even if we haven't been great about keeping in touch at times.

My mentors, and substitute dads, are masters of this, and I can hear Tank's favourite mantra in my head. "Consistent action over time." That's how you show someone you care. You show up. However they need, whenever they need. You just show up.
