Chico Resch is a precious cinnamon roll and I will protect him with my life #NJDevils

#NJDevils with a strong push after going down 2-0. But #Isles survive the storm.

Sorokin gloves a wrister with 10:43 to go in the second.

Quickly 2-0 Isles

New York goal!

Scored by Simon Holmstrom with 16:28 left in the 2nd. Assisted by Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Adam Pelech.

Good news. Jack Hughes is back on the bench.

#Isles with two goals in 1:28 to take a 2-0 lead over #NJDevils here in the second.

First goal wasn't on Daws, but gotta do a better job securing the puck on that one.

1-0 them and Jack to the dressing room. Same old Devils. #NJDevils

Pelech fed Pageau over #NJDevils blue line before he found a cutting Holmstrom at the back post.

Pulock deserves credit for hitting Pelech on the tape from inside #Isles blue line.

End of the 1st:

0-0

Shots: 9-7 NYI

Devils have to stay out of the box. Too many chances for the Isles

Nico Daws saved 0.96 goals above expected in the first period. Good start for him.

Lots of special teams time in that period, but feels like the #NJDevils are fortunate to get to the 1st intermission at 0-0
