Many trading vessels and yachts are enchanted with magic which repels water, decreasing friction and increasing speed.

As such, at full sail, the fastest ships will travel vast stretches of ocean while barely skimming the tallest of waves.

A good worldbuilding detail should do more than fill space
Give it a purpose
A shop should create a choice
A tavern should create a connection
A landmark should create a question
Build details that give your players something to do, not just something to see

I feel like there are two schools of thought: you either love elves for their beauty and refined culture... Or you think they're pretentious twats. If you're in the latter, you might enjoy my fantasy setting and this article on the elven king: substack.com/@loreonworld...

The Ka'Ris were another galactic polity with reason to want to slow down the Empire's rapid expansion. They were mostly unwilling to commit to direct action, but their agents were very willing to help people like the Marovni.

Two views of a crystal-like ship, shaped roughly like a downward pointed cone. Instead of obvious engines, propulsion stems from glowing cracks between facets of the starship. It is landing in the forest on a foggy day, near a two story concrete structure.

Three gangs rule the Cesspit. Bat42. The Sons of Legba. The Dragons. Right now they're in a fragile truce. On Enoch, 'fragile truce' usually means a war is about to start.

A crumb of the post I'll (hopefully) finish tomorrow!

This is a Corepearl Clam, a type of Lightkin creature that produces special pearls and lives deep in the waters of Seraph Craters!

A corepearl clam, which is a special type of creature in this world. The shell and animal are covered in an iridescent sheen and the clam resembles a very small human that has wings and a tail. It also has a pearl for a brain. The post text is as follows: This is a Corepearl Clam, a type of Lightkin creature that produces special pearls and lives deep in the waters of Seraph Craters!

a very vibrant underwater diner! There's a mermaid at the jukebox, she has pink hair, wearing a cloud shirt with angels on it, has a sweet crab bag, and has a teal tail. In the back, shrimp boy is serving squid icecream to an orange tailed mermaid with a french bun hairdo

Authors and Gamemasters, today's world building question!

Describe the military in your world; command structures, capabilities, historical impact, common uses, etc. What is the general attitude toward the military?

@fateweaverttrpg.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 11:00 AM

Taxonomy that worked in one world shouldn't be rebuilt for the next. A pack is a collection's tags, relationship types and event vocabulary under one name. A second collection runs on the first one's edge types, and can be rolled back.

#writingcommunity #worldbuilding

A pack detail page for a tag set, its membership numbered from zero and listing 16 tags as full paths, every row marked as including children and reading usage 0, with a total usage of 0 above them and Export JSON and Apply to Collection controls in the header.A collection Library listing 38 tags and 15 relationship types under World, with event tags and event roles under Events, the tag tree indented in place.A pack collection bundling three packs, a tag set and a relationship type set marked DEFAULT-ON and a set of chronicle event tags marked OPTIONAL, with an applications card underneath reading no applications yet.A relationship type pack listing twenty-two edge types numbered from zero, every one reading usage 0 with a total usage of 0 above them, and an Applications card underneath naming another collection, reading status applied with a date, and offering Rollback.
