Slow, self-indulgent, and heavy-handed BUNKER is a family drama that finds itself in the basement of my TIFF ranking. The themes of class disparity, control, and family strife are fine (albeit very familiar), but this film has the subtly of a sledgehammer. #TIFF26

As someone who did theater in high school and college, goes to Broadway regularly, and loves to sing showtunes at a piano bar (iykyk), I am the target audience for Jesse Eisenberg’s THE DEBUT, and I loved it. #TIFF26

I could’ve listened to another 8 hours of stories, anecdotes, musings, arguments, theories and discussions of art by all the attendees in ONCE UPON A TIME IN HARLEM. Remarkable lives and remarkable characters. It also introduced me to Aaron Douglas’ work. Stunning. #TIFF26
