The colors weren’t this vibrant yet on the hillside. In painting, I change details, use different effects like using opposite colors of what I see - red leaves on trees dominating the top half while on the left leaves still green and turning yellow. A teal colored house is off to the right reflected in the pond. To the left only the gray roof of another house is revealed amongst red leaves. The pond is shades of green, teal, khaki green red from reflections.

The tower wears blue pants, a dark shirt and a hat. His knees are up.

The Grist Mill Pond in Sudbury, Massachusetts is part of the Wayside Inn Historic District and is located close to the Grist Mill. The pond had blue water with reflections of trees with green leaves along the shoreline, yellow-green pollen and algae, tall green reeds in the foreground, and a clear blue sky above.

A local beauty spot. I have to get here by car and drive down a long, narrow lane which is full of very deep potholes. At the end of the lane is a ford and on either side more potholes. As I drive through it I hope that there are no deep potholes under the water.
If I make it through the ford without damaging my car,which I always have, then I have to park in a very uneven car park with large sharp stones!
It’s always worth it and in a couple of weeks the beech trees will look beautiful in their autumn colours.
It is also a wonderful place for water birds.
