A brown horse wearing a black protective fly sheet stands on the roof of a white car inside a rustic barn. The horse’s head is partially covered by the sheet, which includes ear covers, giving it a humorous and surreal appearance. The barn’s interior features wooden walls, a concrete ceiling, and scattered tools or equipment in the background. The car’s windshield and part of its hood are visible beneath the horse’s hooves.

Lunch stop: View from slightly uphill of my chestnut half-Arab Sunflower, Daniel’s leopard Appaloosa Treasor, and Daniel between them sitting on a log by a tree. Surrounded by spruce-fir forest.
Today's sunny Sunday morning circular cycle in the sierra was a slightly shorter sortie than usual on account of me suspect sacroilliac... but was massively enjoyable none the less.
It began in the cool of post dawn with a quick descent down from Canillas through warm light & long shadows to the roman bridge then a sustained climb up through Fogerate to Cruz de Muerto. From there i picked up the carril de cruz de muerto & followed it until i was just past the yellow farm high above the valley. Turning left & sped down the undulating track through the harvested cork oaks to La Fabrica de la Luz like a wayward cart on Disney's Space Mountain, managing to get a little air out of the intermittent concrete gullies on the way... which was nice. After stopping by the river for a while for refreshment i wound me way back uphill & home.
The route delivered some stunning views of the Axarquia region & the shimmering blue Mediterranean sea beyond. Along the way i was lucky enough to see hoopees , gliding eagles & hawks, various small twittering birds & buzzing insects, darting lizards & a wandering wild white stallion. All backed by pine forests of the greenest green & out crops of ragged rocks...
