Half of the moths in last nights garden trap (Chichester) were Lunar Underwings. There was a nice range of colour variation. #teammoth

3 moths on the end of a lolly stick. They are all Lumar Underwings but the left two are light brownish and the right one is a dark grey/brown.

#teammoth trap contents very sparce this a.m. So spent some time bringing my spreadsheet up to date (I should have kept it contemporaneously🙄).

All good however, as I found a Moth I hadn’t entered back from July 9th. NFG #491 Eucosma conterminana (Lettuce Tortrix). It’s new for the tetrad. 🔲

This beautiful common ? Marbled Carpet was the sole moth central Leeds last night. Struck lucky as it dropped off the vanes of the trap and down the funnel as I removed the batteries for the LED. I usually have the ones with the big square orange wing patches #TeamMoth Black and actinic nil !

The 8th species of Ypsolopha for the garden.
Very quiet otherwise.

I’m hoping this is a White Point (not Clay) as that would be new for my Staffordshire garden. One of just 8 species last night #teammoth
