They say fire #purifies, that it burns away evil. Such was my hope when I doused my bed with kerosene, lit a match, and let the flames devour my cursed flesh. But some sins are not so easily absolved, and I woke unharmed amid the ashes, a reproachful moon glaring overhead.

“Christ, it’s like a tomb in here! God, we can change the station on this radio for a start. “

“Christ, it’s like a tomb in here! God, we can change the station on this radio for a start. Get some nice music on. Jesus! It’s like somebody’s died. All that intellectual stuff. And you sitting there with that stupid, miserable look on your face. Happy at your work, eh? Bloody hell! Well, you can deal with this lot.”

"What's this?" The detective waved an envelope.

The rookie blinked. "I guess it's a letter?"

"I suppose so. Beats the other kind of old-fashioned missive." He smiled reminiscently. "You know, the kind that flies through the window wrapped round a #brick."

I visited a zoo.
Maybe I was sleep-deprived, but I saw some strange things:

Elephants harmonizing with their calls.
A horse with ridiculously good people skills.
A monkey reading comic with a sweet potato in hand.

Yep. When you’re exhausted, the only answer is to rest.

People think that it’s my job, as a medium, to #purify places of ghosts. And that makes sense. After all, the idea of someone’s home being haunted by the dead is terrifying... #vss365 #writesky #writingcommunity #microfiction #flashfiction #ghosts
