I’ve noticed that players and coaches aren’t constantly talking to (working the) the #FIBA officials. Maybe the #WNBA should adopt this policy. 🤔

I absolutely love the relative lack of flopping and whining in FIBA basketball. This is so much more enjoyable. I like the no defensive three seconds also. Permits different strategies vs cookie cutter play. Alternating possession better as well. Quicker and transparent reviews. 👍

It used to be mainly a baseball thing. I think fantasy leagues, the internet, and 24 hour sports channels have fed into it. It’s the same as ESPN creating highlight culture. Wow plays get more emphasis than winning play. Wow! They broke their ankles. Sure, they missed the shot, but wow!

Not really. Announcers never went on about them. I’ve been watch bball since the 70s. Got a little about the assists occasionally with Stockton and Malone and Magic Johnson. The constant dbl dbl and triple dbl talk is much more recent.

Not saying they’re common, but that it’s mainly the result of offensive pattern. Ball dominant PG (vs a motion offense) will get more, especially since the pass no longer must be directly responsible for the points; they’re awarded very liberally now, this has changed over time.
