First "somewhat extended rally" that I've seen #Shelton win and it came at an important moment (1-2 down, deuce, second set). He pumps his fist, and holds serve two points later. 2-2.

Congrats and thank you #ElenaRybakina for winning the #USOpen and becoming world number 1, creating the opportunity to bring back this reference 20 years later not once, but twice in a single tournament. And it’s in the US too! #Tennis #WTA

Zverev & Shelton both so ick. I have the match on in the background because Sterling likes to watch tennis.😼 #USOpen

Hmm. Switched from the Athletics to the men's US Open final. 10 mins of underwhelming tennis to complete the first set. Not a fan of either I'm giving it an hour to improve. Then switching to Vigil.

Não se esqueçam q está a dar a final de ténis masculina do #USOPEN.

Added pressure on Zverev to show that he actually *is* the best of the rest in the absence of Alcaraz and/or Sinner ...

Shelton, who hit a DF down BP in opening game, bookends the first set by hitting a DF down SP to hand Zverev the set 6-3.

All the hallmarks of a one- sided match. Shelton can’t compete with Zverev in rallies. #usopen

Erster Satz für Zverev. 6:3 #usopen #Zverev

Not an ideal start for Ben Shelton #usopen

lol double fault to lose the set 🎾 #usopen
