If anybody remembers Brute Force on XBOX, I really loved their on-the-spot character switch through missions. It took a long while to refine the architecture for this to work, but we now have the ability to tell our characters in players' roster to take the lead.

Prototype day 3.

Tuned the colors to the art direction:
one red room, pale white enemies.

Stuck spheres on the enemies
and they got jiggly and creepy-cute.
Keeping that.

Enemy shots now feel more boomer shooter.

Followed a #UE5 UI material tutorial which really liked making blueprint spaghetti. Was also a mess because of many hard-coded values, which I broke out into parameters and bound them to 0..1; straightened the blueprint and I have this! Now just to tie my controller logic to it.

Did more radar work! In this flyby, the other ship has its radar on, so we get big signals from each other. At the end of the clip, the ship is being masked out a little bit by the big asteroid. I added 3 'radar cross section' curves to objects, so maybe stealth ships in future? #gamedev #UE5
