@lazarou.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gyNope, they do not like it. No fault of Tom Cruise or the cast, but the satire doesn't seem to hit.
@lazarou.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gyAs somebody elsewhere said "it's a satire about evil billionaires that evil billionaires would like"
Critics don't like it!

@hitpixplus.comAlejandro G. Iñárritu’s ‘Digger,’ starring Tom Cruise, debuts at 41% on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics largely praise Cruise’s commitment and Emmanuel Lubezki’s visuals, but the consensus so far is that the satire is bombastic, heavy-handed and painfully self-satisfied.

Lowest rated movie for Tom Cruise in a decade.
@loudandclearrvs.bsky.socialAlejandro G. Iñárritu’s DIGGER wears its ambition like a badge of honor, taking creative swings that are admirable but don’t fully work.

@flickdirect.comAllison Rose's first look at Digger at CinemaCon didn't inspire confidence. The finished film completely changed her mind.
Tom Cruise delivers a unique performance in Alejandro G. Iñárritu's sharp black comedy.

@everyfilmnow.bsky.socialTom Cruise aggressively pursued Shawn Levy to direct ‘DAYS OF THUNDER 2’, but Levy chose to direct ‘GHOST RIDER’ instead.
@usdailyreport.bsky.socialTom Cruise just got a very public Taylor Swift moment.
The timing? Katie Holmes has a new man. Nicole Kidman has a new romance. Cruise’s own recent love life has been much quieter.
No proof of jealousy. But the optics are..
@cinecruisey.bsky.socialREPOST TOM CRUISE
What a night surrounded by so many dear friends and such an incredible audience! To share this film with the city of Los Angeles, in a theater I have so many memories of, means the world. We’ll see you at the movies October 2!
