Countless women and some men are identifying themselves online as Jane Doe, the name the Cornell woman is using in her lawsuit. Many are sharing their own experiences of sexual abuse, reminiscent of the #MeToo movement's peak.

“Despite the hysterical claims of its critics, #MeToo was never about ruining the lives of innocent men. In a very real sense, the movement was about leveling the playing field, which is so dramatically tilted against victims that it makes justice nearly impossible to achieve.”

But you’re absolutely right that celebrity coverage dominated the media’s focus on #MeToo. In part, because sexual violence news coverage is relegated to the celebrity news desk in general at a lot of publications. (Because both are “feminine.”)
It’s a massive systemic problem the industry.
I think that’s more of a (very valid, accurate) critique of the #MeToo moment than the anti-campus sexual violence movement.
At the time, celebrities were mostly uplifting student survivor activists, which was an effective strategy to apply political pressure.
Being online has been extra rough lately. A lot of the toxic rhetoric seen during the #metoo era popping up again.

I'm so glad we didn't have to hear his reaction to #metoo. But on the other hand, him saying something clueless, immediately digging in on social media when first catching flack, and then backtracking a day or two later after Yoko had had a word with him would have been hilarious.
Your comprehension skills are sadly lacking. I am agreeing that victim blaming is horrific. Jane Doe had every right to expect to go to the frat house and have consensual sex with the person of her choosing without being raped. Do you get it yet? #MeToo
