A pair of fledgling wrens perched on branches in the forest. The birds are either side of the centre of the shot, both facing the camera but turned slightly towards the left so that their left sides are showing.
Both birds are quite round in shape with their tails standing up behind them. They have slender, yellow beaks with a large mouth gape. They are brown, darker on the back than on the underparts. They have white stripe above the eyebrow and the wings and tail have delicate barring.
The one on the right is perched on the end of a small, cut branch while the one on the right is straddling two branches, one of which continues up between the birds in the foreground. Another couple of branches can be seen behind the bird in the right.

A pretty day yesterday at the Peekskill Riverfront Green Park. Sunshine, shadows, Mums, trees

Macro of a green lynx spider perched horizontally along the slender green stem of a beggar tick wildflower. The arachnid is facing toward its right, showing its left side, with its elongated, light tan and green legs extended forward and covered in sharp black spines. Its translucent neon-green cephalothorax and tapered abdomen rest securely against the foliage next to a small, decaying white and yellow bloom. The entire subject is sharply focused and isolated against a deep black background.

A male Costa's hummingbird sucks nectar from clusters of pink and yellow flowers of the Lantana Camera "Passion Fruit" plant. The bird's crown and back are dark green, matching the color of the leaves. His face is white with a black stripe at the eye. His underside is white with a dark green vest. His wings and claws are out and blurred from hovering. In the background is a gray/blue concrete walkway.

A beat-up paperback book's cover shows scenes of Mars' red rocks with several examples of human technology. "Green Mars" is the book's title. Kim Stanley Robinson is the author. The title & author's name are printed in green. Smaller white text points out that this is the winner of the 1994 Hugo award for best novel.

A bookmark, sticking out above the top edge of the book, is red plastic with a green holographic image of a reptilian eye. The green eye, from what I've read so far, has nothing to do with the book. The bookmark came from a short visit to Cincinnati Museum Center. It was an interesting old building, formerly a train station; if Godzilla or anything else with that kind of eye was on exhibit there, I missed it.
