After Lanterns? They will... #BMovieManiacs

I had fun watching Invasion of the Body Snatchers with the rest of the #BMovieManiacs crew. I hadn’t seen it in 20+ years and the wife had never seen it.

The "real" Mary wouldn't have forgotten.... Am getting suspicious now...😉 #BMovieManiacs

😀But how do we know that you haven't already been...replaced?....😉😀 #BMovieManiacs

Thanks for hosting this classic👍 While I do like the 1978 remake, this original is truly special ☺️ #BMovieManiacs

Yes but the implication is that "all will be well". Is the only reason they tacked on this ending in the first place. I like the dystopian finale,in which McCarthy is trying to warn everyone of the terrible danger. And no one is listening. Could really apply to 2026.... #BMovieManiacs

Reminds me of the ridiculously "happy ending" the studio tacked on to Orson Welles' "The Magnificent Ambersons". If only the dumb studios would have gotten out of the way and let artists like Welles create their visions... #BMovieManiacs

I actually like the ending of Invasion because even though they now see it, doesn't mean it will be defeated..... #BMoviemaniacs

@cinewolf.bsky.social @dc5fanmary.bsky.social Famously, this was another instance of a studio tacking on a ridiculous "happy ending". Orson Welles' "Magnificent Ambersons" was perhaps the worst ever example of this. If only the last shot of "Invasion" had been this one....Oh well...😞 #BMovieManiacs

Rennie was absolutely perfect casting. Previously, there had been serious talk of Spencer Tracy playing Klaatu. Tracy is even quoted as having seriously considered it. Tracy was a brilliant actor. One of the very best. Ever. But this role was Michael Rennie's👍❤️☺️ #BMovieManiacs

Great choice, @bmoviemaniacs.bsky.social! It was fun watching it with you, #bmoviemaniacs, and beware of pods in your basement.

I didn't hate Reaves' performance or the remake as much as some. But the remake isn't in the same league as the 1951 classic #BMovieManiacs

Have a great weekend, Maniacs! I'll be watching you all very closely when we reconvene next week... #BMovieManiacs
