@samknight.bsky.social's #writingtips: A lot of writers never think about run-on paragraphs. Just like in a run-on sentence, you look for where the ideas become new and then break it off. New idea, new sentence. New idea that is not as closely related, new paragraph.
Self-publishing is more than uploading a manuscript.
Editing, proofreading, formatting, cover design, book description, and metadata all matter.
The story is yours. Give the presentation the same care.
Fun fact. One of my romances is in Danish! Dansk! ereolen.dk/ting/object/... Also in English: author.bethbarany.com/books/parisi.... What language is next? It's got to be French. Bien sur. #writingtips

During revision, don't only ask:
“Is this sentence good?”
Also ask:
“Does this scene need to exist?”
Strong writing isn't just beautiful sentences. It's knowing what belongs in the story and what doesn't.
Your first chapter doesn't need to explain everything.
It needs to give readers a reason to turn the page.
A question, an unusual situation, a compelling character, or a problem can create that pull.
Pacing isn't about making every scene fast.
A quiet scene can still be compelling if something is changing: a relationship, a decision, a suspicion, or a goal.
If nothing changes, that's when readers may start to drift.
Ever write a scene that feels flat?
