A writer in a fluffy blue dressing gown holds up the kindle version of her new book in front of her face. Partly because she wants the book front and centre but mostly because she doesn’t like being in photos. And she’s just realised that her iPad screen really, really needs a good clean.
Flames in the background. Text reads: Lore of Myriad. Vampyre Clans of Lucarian. Clan of the Phoenix.

A cardboard box and brown paper unwrapped to show multiple copies of epic fantasy Quartz Storm, a black turquoise and gold cover with ornate decoration and featuring woodland elements, flames, and daggers.
Christine was rushing around the room, frantically grabbing everything she could think of that Marc would need for everyday life - and that wasn’t considered contraband by the mental patient police. Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant. She carefully picked through shirts with the kind of love and care that only comes from a mother. Each time she selected something, Christine handed it to her mom, who carefully arranged it in the duffle bag.

She came out of the bathroom with a handful of catheters and I thought I might actually throw up. I was immediately reminded of all the times I’d told Marc to get over it, that his only lasting injury was his foot, and he should stop being a baby. I was reminded that I hadn’t known the most important details in the life of the most important person to me. I couldn’t breathe. I had to get out of that room.

An excerpt that says, "It was easy to turn her fear into poetry while she was safe. It was something else to maintain it as she stared at the red darkness beyond the hydraulic doors.
They didn’t tell her if Orson had been released or not. They let her linger at the entry point's vestibule, as if waiting to see if she'd beg to be let go. It would be a lie to say that she didn't want to.
Instead Holly stepped forward and let the doors hiss shut behind her."
