This juv Hen Harrier made a close pass as we were viewing the RB Shrike yesterday. Most likely the same individual that we saw on the opposite side of the island a week ago. #UKbirding #Unst

You'll have to take my word for it but a Mersea Island patch tick Dartford Warbler today. A very mobile bird in the company of 2 Stonechats. A great find for Mersea by Dougal Urquhart. #Essexbirding #UKbirding

For the first time ever on the Calf...

Two Great Spotted Woodpecker were caught in a season! Amazingly, they were both caught on the same day! It provided a nice comparison between female and male as well.

This represents the 18th Calf record.

Greenfinch done In watercolour for a report sometime ago. #UKbirding #birding #art #birdart #sciart #watercolour

A Greenfinch, a green and yellow bird sits on branches with a wintry grey feel to the background. The bird is looking slightly over its shoulder.

Two co-occurring Scilly Soras also happened in 2013

After the excitement of the Upland Sandpiper, we slowed things down with some coastal wandering. The Lapland Bunting at Pendeen Lighthouse couldn't get much closer! We ended the day with a stunning sunset at Land's End, accompanied by Cornish Chough and a Bluefin Tuna boil. #ukbirding #cornwallbirds

Sept was hard going in the 10k with no additions to the year list despite many hours flogging the local fields & hedges for migrants. Contemplated if Oct was going to follow suit but then 5mins into a garden vismig yday 5 Golden Plover circled & then headed NW at 07:25. 122 for 10k year #ukbirding

A Magpie, almost in silhouette against the blazingly blue sky. It's perched on a metal girder above the railway line and there's a treetop in the bottom left of the image.
