A rather paltry 28:14 in the Blakeney Point moth trap this morning. Moon, wind, etc. Still, 3 more NFY in Large Wainscot, Sallow and Black Rustic. Others included 3 Small Mottled Willow, Dark Chestnut and Diamondback Moth. #TeamMoth
Another Ephestia elutella (Cacao Moth) candidate potted up from inside the garage a few nights ago!
No idea why my garden seems to produce so many weird & wacky micros.
I think there must actually be a micro moth factory somewhere in the garage….

Eight species in the trap in a breezy and wet night in mid Cheshire. Banded Sallow and Beaded Chestnut were new moths for me. Black Rustic and Lunar Underwing were good to see. Down to one Large Yellow Underwing. #teammoth #mothsmatter
A lovely demonstration of symmetry this morning. Not just with the pattern on this #492 Mallow, but also the fact that my only other record was on exactly the same date last year.
#teammoth trap a little more interesting this morning, though numbers still low. Just 23/10.
Very satisfying however, is that the one that got away a month ago, is the one that didn’t get away today.
Acleris variegana (Garden Rose Tortrix)
Only 2 nights ago - Moth-trapping at - Bolonia, Tarifa, Cadiz Province, Andalucia, Spain, on 30th September 2026 - Sadly, I found these remains of a Death's Head Hawk-moth - Acherontia atropos - see alt button for photos - Oh and about 200 enormous black crickets!!! - #teammoth #spanishmoths
It's taken 1,019 Lunar Underwings to get there, but finally NFG Beaded Chestnut arrived last night (on the left in pic) in company with much hoped-for NFG Black Rustic. 😎
2 Vestals, White-point, SMW, Rush Veneer and RDP on the migrant front.

Highlights from last night, Clancy’s Rustic, Pale mottled Willow, Box tree moth (7), and least Carpet #vc55moths #teammoth
A few moths in to the MV tonight so far: Angle Shades, Copper Underwing agg, 6 Box-tree, S ocellatella, and a small Mother of Pearl that I can see. Temperature is decent and, with a band of rain coming through later, it should stay mild. Good luck to all running tonight. #TeamMoth
01/10/26. 96/19. Red-line Quaker NFY. Grey Shoulder-knot, 4 Large Wainscot, 3 Beaded Chestnut, SMW & 58 Lunar Underwing of note... #teammoth #norfolkmoths
Clancy's Rustic caught in Skinner trap in my Newark, Nottinghamshire garden last night. Third record for county.

Quiet moth trap last night with only 6/4. Some nice autumnal species turning up though such as Spruce Carpet and the lovely Green-brindled Crescent. Also nice to get an interesting form of Acleris variegana!
Red-line Quaker (Agrochola lota) - North Antrim - September 2026. Another moth of autumn increasing in numbers in recent weeks. #moths #mothsmatter #teammoth #gcampbellphoto @ulsterwildlife.bsky.social @savebutterflies.bsky.social @europebutterfly.bsky.social
Found dead in my trap from the other night. Thought it was a Hawthorn Drab (Paraswammerdamia nebulella) but might it be a White-headed Drab (P. albicapitella)? Seems a little late though? Possibly it could be an old corpse I missed, but I do empty the trap after each session.
