“Fire Up” feels like the #cf97 version of trying to make “fetch” happen. Although using it as a closing salutation is more like ordering 3 glasses confidently in the gif below.
#cf97 goal of the day for September 18, 2026:
September 3, 2016 - MLS
Chicago Fire 3-0 Philadelphia Union - Michael de Leeuw 71'
Cap's not going anywhere 👀
We have signed defender Jack Elliott to a new contract. Elliott is now under contract with the Club through the 2027-28 season with a Club option for 2028-29. #cf97
The Fire losing Brady, Puso, Lod and Lewa for the int'l window is certainly not ideal. Thankfully only two games, but kinda important games nonetheless.
I guess you roll with some sort of 4-3-3? Bamba-MHS-Zinck up top, Oregel-D'Avilla-Saletros in the mid, Gutman-Allen-Elliot-Dean #cf97?
Robert Lewandowski in an interview w/Mateusz Skwierawski:
"This summer, the offer from Chicago Fire wasn't the highest I've received. I can put that to rest."
Confirms he will be w/🇵🇱 for all 4 of their matches this fall. Would mean missing two games for #cf97
Chicago Fire's updated roster and cap info - Fire have $1.1m in GAM which they can use for signing bonuses in 2026 or to add to cap in the sprint season or beyond.
#cf97 goal of the day for September 17, 2026:
July 20, 2013 - MLS
Chicago Fire 4-1 D.C. United - Chris Rolfe 45+1'
Thinking about what this means for Brady. Also thinking about the real possibility that we could one day see an entirely Chicagoland based set of goalkeepers in the USMNT between Brady, Schwake, and Celentano.
Is that likely? Maybe not.
Would it be freaking awesome? Hell yeah.
W/4 GKs, wouldn't be surprised if one was allowed to come late (Schwake so he could play 9/27 vs Miami? Freese for 9/26 vs ATL?) and one was allowed to leave early (Brady, the only one with a game on 10/6, so he could join #cf97 against Vancouver?)
Four keepers, with Freese, Kochen, and Schwake listed. Means if #cf97's Chris Brady is in the group as expected, he likely wouldn't be the 1st choice GK (though in friendlies, that doesn't necessarily mean much). Fire play Charlotte and Vancouver on USMNT matchdays this window.
The Bonfire is back following a disappointing loss as the winless streak continues.
@amcalabrese.bsky.social joins John & Tim to talk how the fire rebound, if it’s time to hit the panic button, & when to expect new arrivals!

Keep coming back to this;
Sporting Director Berhalter I think has largely been successful, but Coach Gregg I'm having less faith in.
MiR, and probably Tim specifically, talked about GGG raising the floor but not the ceiling, and I think we're starting to feel that.
How do you fix that?
