Are Grebe's normally such bad parents?
This youngster couldn't gulp the fish down, so was being CHASED by their parent!

Goodnight Bluesky Folks!
Yesterday at work, I spotted a grey heron perched in a tree and promptly took a photo with my iPhone 17 Pro.

One of the locals at Lytchett Fields today.
I also had a Goshawk sat in a tree near Holton for about 10 minutes after I first saw it, which was quite exciting (at that time it was misty and dull, so the photos are barely ID-able!)

Anyone know WHY grey wagtails bob?
Are they clockwork?
Have they got cold feet?
Is it some sort of dance?

RSPB Dungeness - a Grey Heron- taken from Dengemarsh Hide, on what is now turning into my daily circuit of the reserve.
Scilly day 3. A frustrating day on St.Agnes with no sign of the Western Bonelli’s Warbler but my 2nd Red-backed Shrike in 2 days and finding my 1st ever Lesser Emperor dragonfly (only the 2nd for Aggy apparently) were noteworthy. Black Redstart back on Mary’s made the year list. #ukbirding 🪶
Juv Grey Plover at Grafham Water in failing light this evening. Also a smashing 3CY Caspian Gull. Water levels still low, at around 60% of capacity @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social #ukbirding

For the first time ever on the Calf...
Two Great Spotted Woodpecker were caught in a season! Amazingly, they were both caught on the same day! It provided a nice comparison between female and male as well.
This represents the 18th Calf record.
