#TIFF26: THE DREAMED ADVENTURE - maybe a bit too long, but if a slow-moving, gritty, realistic, feminist critique of male power and posturing in a post-Soviet Bulgaria sounds like your cup of tea, there’s a lot to appreciate here.

#TIFF26: BRACE YOUR HEART - the translated title doesn’t quite capture the original, which more literally means “harden your heart.” Important, as the film explores the possibility and limitations of forgiveness, reconciliation, moving forward, after a grievous harm within a tightknit community.
#TIFF26: WILD WILD EAST - as the title suggests, there’s an homage to the Western (a man literally rides into town on a horse, searching for gold). But as the story unfolds, it undoes and ultimately transcends your expectations. Carefully plotted with lots of foreshadowing/“Easter eggs.”
We asked these five film critics to share their most anticipated #TIFF26 titles!

A GOOD LITTLE SOLDIER might even be a bit TOO accurate in its depiction of certain corporate behaviors, but it’s always compelling, sometimes funny and makes me so very glad I’m retired…Alba Rohrwacher continues to climb in my estimation (she was already high up the list). #TIFF26

“Anna Biller's The Face of Horror is irresistibly campy. There’s a palpable sense that everyone onscreen and behind the camera is in on the joke, perhaps particularly Jonah Hauser-King, playing the role of a medieval-era fuckboy.”
