Two new moth species for me, found at Blo' Norton: Dusky-lemon Sallow (tapped from Oak) and Pale-lemon Sallow that landed on my hand while I was sweep netting under trees. A rather pleasing pair. #TeamMoth #NorfolkMoths

An orangey-brown coloured moth with dark wavy lines across the wings and some more extensive darker areas. The moth is inside a clear plastic pot which is on the ground and green grass stems can be seen through the pot.A brown moth with two pale wavy lines crossing the wings and a small whitish spot inside the reniform wing stigma. The tips of the forewings are slightly pointed. There is some orange suffusion to the wings. The moth is sitting on the back of a human hand and facing left.

Opodiphthera helena - Helena Gum Moth

This has to be one of the most amazing moths to visit our moth light!

The Helena Gum moth is one of the largest moths in southwest Western Australia. This one had a wingspan of around 13cm. Stunning! 😍

Another Ephestia elutella (Cacao Moth) candidate potted up from inside the garage a few nights ago!
No idea why my garden seems to produce so many weird & wacky micros.
I think there must actually be a micro moth factory somewhere in the garage….
