The only way to save it w/out cutting benefits is to scrap the cap on taxable income subject to the payroll tax which is currently set at $184500. If all income were subject to the tax Social Security would be solvent until 2100.

@ncpssm.bsky.socialRepublicans and some Democrats say we need a commission to decide the future of #SocialSecurity. But that's really the job of lawmakers themselves. A commission would give individual congress members 'political cover' for cutting benefits. And that's not good. @repbrendanboyle.bsky.social
