All things heal in time,
                                               they say,
but some events just pass us in a flash,
speeding from an unseen future, lashing out
while overtaking in a specious instant,
going straight from now
to an incurable antiquity —
they circumvent the long and healing
years between,
                                and fester.

All things heal in time,
                                               they say,
but sometimes wounds just fail to scab —
bleeding from the moment of their first,
fresh opening when friendship stabs us
in the back, they gape, refuse to close.
They throb, and ooze,
and make us envy those whose
deepest injuries
                                  leave scars.

All things heal in time,
                                               they say,
They lie.

happiness

is it contentment
a square meal, roof and a book
call it happiness

Reading something I wrote an hour ago thinking it was a masterpiece:

I'm falling behind on posting things, so here's a dump of some journal junk from the past week or so 💜

. . . .

#art #myart #journal #artwork #prose #writing #poetry #writingcommunity #artistsofbluesky #poetsofbluesky

A colored pencil drawing of 3 different figures with a bubble in the upper right that reads, "my medical dream team ❤️"
In the back left is a large, looming grey shadow figure with just 2 slanted glowing yellow cat-eyes and a green-ish aura.
Directly in front of it, stands (?) a purpley-pink insectoid, ant/mantis-like being with a displeased look, pincers, curved horn-like feelers, and tiny spines extending out from its face. It has 4 tendril-like arms that end in spiny blobs. It is wearing a doctor's coat with a name tag that isn't legible, with a syringe and a pen in the pocket.
Off to the right of the insectoid, is an hourglass shaped figure, with concentric lines forming new curves on top if it's head, each line separating a different color from red outwards to purple. The face is just a red and black scribble extending beyond its boundaries, and it's simple body is glowing orange.

I attempted to draw something from a dream/nightmare, these were my "doctors" An abstract ink and colored pencil drawing of a scribbly-bubbly shape, with the small intersections blacked out, some bubbly sections filled in with either dark blue, yellow-orange, or a bluish green, and about half of them containing random intersecting lines that connect to one another in the background. This shape is surrounded by concentric outlines of different shades of red.

The writing on the page reads:
"& I can barely handle it now...
thoughts & feelings
& maybe arteries
bursting
like
KA-BLOW"
A drawing with colored pencil and ink with what appears to be a tree trunk, or maybe a utility pole, with brown wood grain, vertical in the middle of the page from about the middle down.
On the top and extending down the along the sides of this wood, is a blue line that starts in a sharp peak at the top of the page and splits down around the tree/post, with a large spiral intersecting into it, and 2 large blue drops falling downward on the left. On the right side, the blue line continues down off of the bottom of the page, with a single drop dripping down the right of it.
Near the top of this, there are two green leaves extending outward from the blue line on either side in opposite directions, offset from each other. There is a blue outline around the tops of the leaves.
On the left side of the page is a large, dark angular eye peering downward with an intense yet tired gaze. The iris is dark purple, with hints of pink and blue, and the whites are bloodshot and jaundice. From the corner of the eye down and slightly to the left, is a thin yellow and orange lightning bolt.
Everything is outlined loosely with pen.

The words on the page read at the upper left:

"Storms
yet again..."

& sideways along the blue line towards the bottom left:

"Unraveling soil,
disrupting limbs"A journal page with a poem that reads,
"More colour,
more flavour

more to life,
more to savour

oh, god,
oh, heavens,
grant me this favour

I no longer
wish to be
cursed
under this thunder,

the late storms
of this swift summer,

break my soul open,
tear me asunder."

((I spell words weird on purpose sometimes, for some reason, lol))

With randomly placed bubbles in the spaces, each containing a different colored pencil drawing. The top right bubble, almost dripping downwards, contains pink roses and petals with a soft blue background. The next one down on the left side has purple coneflowers reaching up from the bottom, with a bluish background. On the right side near the middle of the page, is a bubble with a tree branch extending out towards the left full of leaves, and a soft bokeh blue background. There are three bubbles grouped together at the bottom of the page, the first, small one on the left has what appears to be mint with little purple flower clusters. A slightly larger one to the right has a green pepper on a plant. And the largest at the bottom, a couple of tomato plants with ripe fruit.

I upgraded my bookcover of a book of #haiku I wrote several years ago centered around 50 black and white photos I took.

I think there’s thread of simplicity between black and white photographs and haiku.
