I really liked this feminist drama set in Kabul in the run-up to the US leaving Afghanistan and the Taliban taking control

My review of Lali at #LFF is here: letterboxd.com/rachael1918/...
THE MAN I LOVE (Ira Sachs, 2026). I mostly enjoyed this series of glimpses into the New York creative scene in the 1980s, where Rami Malek plays Jimmy, a gay actor confronting his own mortality while also trying to hold it together for what’s likely to be his final stage performance. >> FilmSky #LFF
I am on the way to the #LFF screening of WILD HORSE NINE. Is McDonagh now doing a Greenaway bit with the titles?

The Man I Love - No surprise Ira Sachs has a more delicate and authentic grasp of Elsinore’s subject matter, but how relieving - and heartbreaking – to see Rami Malek used wisely for a change. A lesser Sachs with an affecting reverence for community and atmosphere in spite of the circumstances.

I took issue with the positively framed core message of The Yamadas - uncharacteristically let down by Takahata 😔
#Nightborn is a creepy little horror/Thriller/ Finnish Folk Tale chiller that while effective, isn’t that scary.
Part parenting nightmare, part cannibal movie, it does enough to keep the audience entertained while offering little suspense.
Hanna Bergholm’s #NIGHTBORN is an effective, low-budget horror that works wonders with its atmosphere. Rupert Grint dials in a solid performance amidst the bloodletting, injecting the film with some comedic quality!
It’s chillingly effective, but far from a classic! #LFF
Is there any tickets people would want to swap for 2x Javier Bardem screen talk tickets?
