Warm/dry Central MT today 28C Red Lodge 31C Billlings. New daily record highs. RHs 8-14% all over w strong upper ridging. Short run along Rock Crk. in the canyon 2200-2300m in 25C warmth, drying out fast in here. If it were windy 🔥 would spread quickly. #climate #running #dogs #montana #mountains

looking up Hellroaring Plateau side of the canyon, blighted Aspen already bare down low. some color higher up 2550m (l). yesterday in Silver Gulch 2200m a few beautiful healthy ones (r).Rock Crk. is low but not terribly so. 2250m here (l). Very dry these bare areas 2300m. Way back behind canyon most snowpatches gone even above 3500m.wasn't much of trail here but nice along the creek. Could be some moisture Sun/Mon, sure hope so. All the shrubs/trees need fall moisture, they store it in root systems. For winter dryness, because it is often very windy. Dry falls then lead to damaged/dead mainly conifers over-winter in vulnerable exposed areas. Been happening a lot last three years.our drought status (l). It has been quite warm last 30 days, and Beartooth Front and Plateaus actually missed out on precip.

Grimentz, montée à la Corne de Sorebois (2895 m). Le glacier des Diablons en face, le lac de Moiry turquoise en contrebas, puis un chemin de crête qu'on n'a pas envie de quitter. 🍂

Vue plongeante sur le lac de Moiry, d'un bleu turquoise intense, fermé à droite par un barrage-voûte en béton. Des chemins serpentent sur les versants bruns et dorés de la vallée. Au premier plan, de l'herbe sèche et un pierrier traversé par une piste en lacets. À l'horizon, des sommets enneigés sous un ciel chargé de cumulus.Un sentier de terre suit une large crête herbeuse aux teintes dorées et s'élève vers un sommet sombre en forme de pyramide. Quelques randonneurs minuscules marchent sur le chemin. À gauche, des sommets enneigés et des glaciers. En bas à droite, un coin du lac de Moiry turquoise. Au-dessus, des nuages blancs et gris sur un ciel bleu.Un vaste glacier crevassé descend en plusieurs langues sous des sommets enneigés, dont le plus haut se perd dans les nuages. Plus bas, une vallée profonde et sombre.
