If this frustrating dream doesn’t adequately explain the role I’ve played in most of my close relationships, I don’t know what does.

In fact, if I learned it wasn’t a dream at all, but a memory I’d forgotten, I wouldn’t even question whether it could have happened.

It could have.

I had a dream that I was hanging out with someone I’d been friends with when we were younger. She showed me that her little sister had gotten a small snake at the pet store earlier that day.

The snake was still in a clear container from the store, and the clear container was inside a pet carrier.

I didn’t question it because I figured they had also just gotten the pet carrier at the pet store.

But my friend took the snake out of the container to show me. She was afraid of it, but she knew that I would like it. Naturally, because she was scared, she lost control of the snake, and it crawled away.

I caught him quickly, instructing her to give me the plastic container so I could put him back.

Instead, she took him from my hands, tossed him into the dog crate, and closed it.

I sat there like, “Ummm…??? That’s not going to work??” bewildered that I had to explain that the snake could very, very obviously get through any of the holes in the crate.

“Oh, well, maybe it will. But it has plenty of room.”

I explained that if she was wrong, she would have to tell her sister why her snake was lost—and there would be a snake loose in the house that would eventually become a corpse somewhere inside it.

She suddenly became stressed and asked me to help her get the snake back. I opened the crate and found him slithering out the other side, toward her.

She got up and ran away.

I ran to the other side to get him, but he had slithered behind something.

I moved the object and found that there were two snakes: him and a slightly larger one, wrapped around each other behind it.

I was alarmed.

They both scattered, but I kept my focus on the one that belonged to her sister. I caught him again and kept yelling for my friend to give me the plastic container, but she still wasn’t listening. I didn’t know where she’d put it, and I couldn’t find it.

All I had was a small wineglass—and it was full.

The dream ended.

I don’t know what happened.

I had this dream I was reborn as Harry's long lost sister and built this massive atrium/library with my amazing magical power. And accumulated influence and political power through it.
It was very self-insert coded.
