ARRESTED MEMORY is a bit like its central character: generally confused, really good at its job when it remembers what to do and not at all interested in tying up any loose ends. Mostly a fun time. #TIFF26
I had to draw him to manage my energy from the event.

#River is a tight and tense slasher worthy of the beloved subgenre. Read @sarahgopaul.bsky.social's #TIFF26 review

WOMAN UNKNOWN - A rich, layered, exquisitely directed post-WWII thriller about secrets, survival, and gendered punishment. Difficult to revisit but impossible to shake, it lingers through devastating images and thoughtful questions about who society chooses to shame, protect, and forgive. #TIFF26 📽️

#TIFF26
ASSASSIN(S) is a pretty solid rollicking political thriller until the last half hour when…it isn’t. It becomes a weighted down preachy melodrama with over the top screaming and an unsatisfactory epilogue. Some great stuff before that though! #TIFF26
THE DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID is such a mixed bagged. It emotionally works when focusing on the main character's struggles and its familiar themes of class and discrimination, but the choppy editing and slow pacing make it a chore to watch. #TIFF26
35 - The Violinist: A beautiful, sweeping animated tale following two young musicians in love in Singapore during WWII #TIFF26

Marie Madeleine is a vibrant look at friendship and the hypocrisies found within organized religion. #TIFF26

A very frustrating watch, ATONEMENT attempts to explore the nature of guilt and forgiveness, but ultimately feels selfish and hollow. It's periodically emotional, but mostly just leaves behind a bad taste and an unearned ending. #TIFF26
34 - The Only Living Pickpocket in New York: Excellent character study following John Turturro as an aging pickpocket who gets in over his head #TIFF26
A touching portrait of sisterhood and family pressure, Happily Ever After is a stunning and simple exploration of personal joy starring Shuhua Yeh and Xuan Chen. #TIFF26
