I think just wants her possessions at her beck and call. She couldn't get the human one back without exposing herself to gossip, but she can send high-ranking police officers out in full force to get her canine one back without inconvenience to herself.

It is! Haigh killed his last victim on February 18, 1949. He confessed to the acid bath MO 10 days later saying "How can you prove murder if there's no body?" Coppel's novel was published in 1947 and filming on #Obsession began in October 1948. It was a complete coincidence!

She's still got a babyface. A baby Ewok face! 😍

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

Right? Like way back when she sent the anonymous letter.

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

So gorgeous. Is he a Maine Coon or mix thereof? He looks like a bigun.

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

In that screen cap Bill even looks like Dick Van Dyke. The House on Haunted Hill with a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ending.

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

But do they ever warn you not to run a line 100 yards under overgrown bomb sites through two doors to a dungeon? No, I don't think so.

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

She barely even liked him. And "him" applies to Clive, Bill AND Monty. Also, no way she's going on that Latin American cruise alone. No way. She's been in "thank you, next" mode for months.

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

Bill probably could use a little fresh air as well. 😂

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

Thank you for toughing it out! 🙏

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

Glad you enjoyed it, quibbles notwithstanding. 👍

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

I also finally saw #Obsession which was great and #Backrooms which was pretty good. Love this energy and creativity from young directors.

Then I landed in #LAX, where the arrival tunnels are basically an interactive Backrooms exhibit that take nearly as long to complete.

She's like Memo in The Natural, only Bill had no Pop to warn him.

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

Yes he did. He survives poison, avoids any further entanglement with a poisonous woman and gets the dog in the breakup. Hero's journey right there.

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

Thank you! Glad you could join the watch party.

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

They're the only ones who deserved a happy ending! 😄Although an argument could be made that Clive gets off so easy it's practically a happy ending for him, at least as far as would-be acid bath murderers go.

#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed a rewatch with us. 😊

All she ever does is nag at him. "No Monteh! Be quiet, Monteh! Monteh, where are you?" She's probably a better wife than she is a dog mom, because at least she leaves her husband alone when he's not, you know, murdering her lovers.
#Obsession #TheNoirCollective

Thank you for your kind praise.

In my vision of Monty and Bill's life after #Obsession, Monty is never put on a leash again and whatever road he and Bill walk down, they cleave together, bound only by the invisible and weightless chains of love. #TheNoirCollective

I loved the bleak story and atmosphere too, especially since it's so encased in British upper class manners. It's like Dorothy L. Sayers by Hammer Studios. 😂

Thank you for coming!
