Simply put, #Obsession is completely in your face while #Backrooms leans very hard into being abstract and obtuse.
Not a lot of common threads between them, but both huge hits, and I find that very encouraging for the state of #IndieHorror
2/2

Having now seen #Backrooms and #Obsession, I find it interesting that they were both such box office phenoms.
They could not have felt more different in terms of tone, theme, acting, story, look, and everything else. 1/2

Kane Parsons a une manière bien à lui de classer #Backrooms dans un genre. Et ce n'est peut-être pas plus mal.

So, #horror fans out there, I would love some feedback. Been a fan of the genre since the ‘80s. Just watched #Backrooms.

Outstanding atmospherics & setup. But plot felt like a derivative version of the classic novel #HouseofLeaves + David Lynch wannabe.

What did I miss? Should I watch again?

Clark proved the Backrooms are real without bringing Kat & Bobby in—just a subtle hint. u/mickeyguy2010, r/KanePixelsBackrooms, https://www.reddit.com/r/KanePixelsBackrooms/comments/1wtn3o7/has_anyone_else_realized_that_clark_didnt_even/

I may have mentioned that I like out-of-the-ordinary TTRPG experiences. Almost anything that isn't D&D will at least get polite attention. And this game looks about as outside the D&D bubble as you can get. #roleplaying #backrooms
