We Ain’t Born Typical ... and Loss of Eden

Our birth separates us from Nature. It makes us distinct from all other species, and it is expressed mythically as a loss of Eden, a loss of a Golden Age. A loss of an Eden, a fall from grace of some sort, is a universal human myth. In it, we leave off a direct relationship or connection to a higher power or ultimate reality. We become instead…

PLANETMATES: THE GREAT REVEAL

…thinking it humorous that anyone would be offended, for to them it meant that despite their losing their control over the minds of the masses, they had accumulated so much wealth that they would not and could not be hurt. They would be able, as always, to use that wealth to undermine the legitimate strivings of everyone else for justice, for the truth, for relief from suffering, but now even for the survival of us all and, dear human, how can your kind not know that includes themselves as well? Still, these truths must be made known and be thrown up to counter those fewer but somehow even more loudly heard Republicans.

“The truth is this: That your kind has suffered greatly because of a fear that caused you to stray from trusting in a good “God,” as you put it. That caused you to instead strive mightily to control the powers that would have guided and taught you and given you a happier life than you could ever have designed on your own ... oh sadly feeble-minded ape in suffering pushed to be insane ape.... And railing against all that by claiming superiority over all life and Godlike powers of deciding death, now even determining the death of the planet along with yourselves.”

Additionally, the toxicity of the environment is compounded by the fact that the placenta during late gestation is beginning to age, beginning to break down, to become calcified, and is less efficient. This, in itself, contributes to a feeling of being trapped in a dying environment, with everything around being irritating, old, dull, dumb, and burning. Again, being on the edge of environmental apocalypse and with a society flooded with propaganda and commercials creating a society stupid enough to wish their own demise — voting for a Trump and ignoring environmental collapse, for example — we can see how these buried feelings, unacknowledged, we are manifesting all about us.

This kind of irritation to things in the environment has many act outs as well, many of them also contributing to human evil — such as racism, bigotry, and environmental pollution. For, again, remember we re-create that which we do not feel and integrate. Thus we have manifested a toxic and caustic environment: Acid rain, polluted streams and rivers, acidic oceans, ozone depletion leading to sunburns and cancer, exploding stockpiles of nuclear waste throughout the world, and the potential for nuclear war — which, by the way, would be the ultimate act out of this feeling of burning on the surface of the skin.

Individually Constituted Realities

If not, follow this: Do you see that even the term culture is not a category with clear boundaries and that it might pertain to a huge group of individuals, whereas subgroups of that would constitute separate cultures, each slightly different from the rest, so they are themselves considered cultures. These subgroups are sometimes called subcultures.

But even they have subgroups and subcultures within them. For a culture is a particular set of understandings or ways of seeing that is held in common by a group. And every group, in that sense, can be considered a culture for, indeed, that is how we define a group: It is a number of people that share a common understanding or way of seeing things, and that might simply be in its intent. But also it usually includes its goals, procedures, and more: special language, sometimes called jargon; group constructions — physical and organizational ones as well as temporal ones, i.e., events; as well as ways of behavior, manners of speaking, rules of courtesy, and the like.

Indeed, that kind of precise and perfect unity with others is what dancers seek and re-create in the choreographed dance routines they do with others. Perfectly synchronized marching routines, as band or military members train to do, fit also into this category. These are all, at base, attempted re-creations of that perfect synergy of one’s actions with a mother’s biological processes and emotional states, which characterizes some of the best of our times in the womb.

It is even better if it defies gravity, as our experience in the womb seemed to do. Gymnastics and break-dancing are perfect re-creations of blissful womb experience. We can move euphorically in three-dimensional space, overcoming the constraints of gravity. This was precisely our experience in early womb life. We both do these activities as well as are fascinated by others performing them because of early memories of perfection and weightlessness.

Plus, we sky-dive. And if we do not, we view with awe and appreciation via the media the videos of the most acrobatic and gravity defying stunts performed in descent by skydivers. We have created machines where we on the ground can force air up strongly enough so we can experience floating in the air above it similar to skydiving.

THE DESCENTS OF MAN

Page 21

Nineteenth Descent — Soul Murder

Thus, with the assistance of mind control that was imposed — things akin to morality, propaganda, and religion; augmented by mind control that was self-administered, which would include things like thought control, positive thinking, “creating one’s reality,” “channeling” of one’s drives for fulfillment, and sublimating of one’s desires; along with trivial distractions from one’s experience of self through mindless entertainment, mind- numbing work, and such; and finally with the boost provided by the modern pharmaceuticals serving to put blinders on one’s thoughts and to restrict one’s feelings and emotions and channel them along those “appropriate” lines helpful to the higher-ups ... with all these together we had the ability to achieve a pretty good murder of the conscience, of the soul.

Sociopathy

And with this we have the achievement of the heights of “civilization” — the sociopath. All human “evolution,” characterized as it is by increasing control of everything and anyone around, reaches its fruition in the creation of a personality without the ability to empathize, which enables a human to kill, steal, manipulate, bully, destroy the environment, kill off species, and dominate without conscience or remorse — all in the service of narcissistic desires and greed. The sociopath is the logical and inevitable omega point of man’s descent from Nature.
“This is me! I’m expressing me! What else is there to do?”

“Ok, thank you. That explains a lot. But something comes to me. May I?”

“Sure,” says he.

“You say that, ‘this is me.’ Number one. Right?”

“Right.” Annoyed again.

“Ok. Now, you know there are not a lot of people watching. But your intention is not to influence any people. Number two, right?”

“Yep, that’s right.”

“But you wouldn’t be putting up a website if you didn’t want somebody to know who you are. I mean, you could say it in the mirror, or in your bedroom. You wouldn’t be making it available…

APOCALYPSE EMERGENCY

Page 39
In his descriptions of the levels of experience and the matrices of perinatal experience, Grof has provided useful maps of the unconscious and experience in nonordinary states, which have incredible heuristic value in our understanding of cross-cultural religious and spiritual experience, psychopathology, personal growth, and consciousness and personality in general. And they have been utilized successfully in providing a context and guide for many tens of thousands of participants in his psycholytic and holotropic therapies.

However, while Grof is exhaustive in his descriptions of fetal and perinatal experience, he says less about the earlier experiences in the womb — the first trimester — and even less about conception and the experiences of sperm and egg — what is known as cellular consciousness. Still, this area is beginning to be discussed among his followers. And through his current nondrug modality, called holotropic breathwork, people are accessing these areas and beginning to give word to them (e.g., Carter, 1993).

This also sheds light on the seemingly “mindless” violence and rage that is directed back against anonymous people and society in general by certain types of criminals. They can be seen to be acting out their “fuck you” welcome into the world by attacking back and outwardly, rather than this early rage energy being channeled into some of the other, more healing or at least not harmful, responses possible to early assault.

Faces Coming Out of the Walls

I would like to refer to one final perinatal indicator in the visual media, which has been capturing my attention of late ... seeming to be coming out of the very walls at me! This is — what appears to me to be — a recent and new sort of perinatal symbolism, at least in Western culture.

We have had, over and over again, the image of the “evil fetus” erupting from the abdomen, as in the classic scene from “Alien” as…

…these memories as reported by the former neonate. They often contained technical details of the delivery and labor unlike what would be expected of the medically unsophisticated, a perceptive critique of the way the birth was handled, and other details of the event that could not have been known through normal conscious channels.

Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology Overview — Next, the Womb Experience

We see that a substantial body of literature and research — anecdotal, observational, experimental, and empirical — demonstrating the reality of and the importance of birth and its trauma has been going on for almost one-hundred years. But others, in time, went beyond birth and began to uncover prenatal influences and memories. This look into events in the womb and their significance for personality, behavior, and thought is what we deal with next, in Chapter 6, “Womb with a View.”
One accepts the “process” as being what is all important. It is not the goal that is crucial, authorities are not needed, one cannot do it for anyone else. It focuses on Divinity as being inherent, which means that one reaches the truth on one’s own, one is healed by surrender not by fee to a professional. One risks societal standing, luxury, salary, even life and limb, and does not slough off responsibility for the evil of the world to some anonymous organization or to some imagined individuals who, one rationalizes, are “higher up” and “more in the know.” One stands up, oneself, for a cause greater than oneself ... one that is truly important, even necessary. One becomes the necessary hero. This is the crooked path to Self.

When one embraces the Mystery of life ... when one seeks to learn from its exigencies not focus all one’s energy on dragon slaying, that is, keeping all risk away ... a moonful of new and exciting possibilities are born. One’s life is renewed, and one has a new appreciation for it.

Many Moons

Another time the lunar-theological intent of the film is revealed is at the end, in the film’s most important and culminating statement: Again, the couple is in this stripped-down state of self. It is…

THE TAO OF FUNNY GOD, MATRIARCHY, AND LUNAR THEOLOGIES

Page 57
We see the differences in male and female tendencies in that regard even today. First of all, however, throughout our history this extra assistance needed by mothers has pushed for single male-female units — monogamy — with exceptions to the contrary pushing through only occasionally and to various degrees in only some cul- tures, but if so, especially among the well-to-do in those societies. For in some societies, men with excess resources have the luxury of time for such dalliances, the resources to facilitate them, along with, importantly, the power to keep from being pressured by others in the group to do otherwise and to be like the rest in the group, for example, through moralizing. They are above such restrictions as falls upon the rest of their group, and in such a situation, we see the tendencies of men to manifest as they would.

The point is we have polygamy and polyandry as human potentials, but polygamy — that is, one man with two or more women — vastly trumps polyandry in terms of its occurrence. Furthermore, and just ask any woman, it is the man who is more likely to cheat. That is more than just a complaint or criticism from women, it is actually the case, statistically, and in virtually all cultures. Whether it is considered “cheating,” however, is culturally variable.

credibility to them. When experienced existing in the outside world, they can be felt to be more real than when heard in one’s private thoughts alone. So it is that when a demagogue like Donald Trump gives word to their unrealities, their delusions, they are giddy with joy. For here is the chance to have their cooked-up mythologies confirmed, their defenses against the obvious redeemed, and for them to be justified for all the grief they cannot help but feel for having gone against the facts their whole lives.

This is another reason they need to enlist other people in their untruths and have the media, in addition to Donald Trump, echo it: It adds to the reality of these lies ... the Big Lie repeated becomes more true ... and boosts their defense against, and attacks on, the truth of their reality which asserts itself over and over — “truth will out” — during their life and increasingly more as they get older. This also explains their behavior’s increasing rigidity with time and its downright obdurate nature when these folks become curmudgeons, so typical of the elderly.

Sympathy for the Bedeviled

Simply look at the lives of these people and imagine those multitudes and the incredible pain, utter lovelessness, utterly miserable and confused minds they carry as adults.

…interviewer about his take on the scary and unprecedented retreat from stocks and those days of multihundred point losses, one after the other. This elderly obviously seasoned personality seemed to balloon out several sizes of his suit in his sheer incomprehension and his near perfect confusion. Still, raising his voicing, a little more squeaky and almost embarrassed, puffer-fish guy held forth, as if written on tablets, first, how “all the traders have lost money” and then, “Nobody’s doing okay.... .” But his afterthought hit me like a spear: He pleaded, “I mean who last year at this time foresaw anything like this coming.... I mean,” he said “anything at all, at all, like this coming up?”

At home, there was no way to restrain the howl of laughter that last comment triggered in me. While at the exact same time, I experienced this sharp pain in my belly, like I’d been stuck, well and good, by a spear. I couldn’t believe this “expert’s” comment.
