Hurricane #Polo is a Category 5 monster, with winds of 285 km/h (180 mph), and could reach 295 km/h (185 mph) soon.

Polo is forecast to skim along the southwestern coast of Mexico over the next few days, narrowly avoiding a catastrophic landfall.

NHC update on #Polo: winds of 155 kts, pressure down to 892 mb. A second NOAA recon pass through the eye found an extrapolated 889.3 mb pressure and flight level winds of 167 kts, which supports this intensity.

Hurricane hunter aircraft just measured the central pressure in #Polo at 889 mb, the 2nd lowest ever in the eastern Pacific basin (behind 2015's Patricia 872 mb).
