Today’s first thing, Remaue and I hied to Lady-Mother’s house. She met us at breakfast, where we told her the whole tale of Semuane and Lady Maiali. Lady-Mother took it lissomely and spoke we had rightly come. What Lady Maiali’s craftiness may become she knew not, though she reckoned it else than Qabarat’s alliance with Son. She beread Qabarat’s matrons play many games among themselves. Lady Semuane’s bestrivenness could even work a blow against the High Matron Lady Ivassil and so further Lady Maiali’s sake. She bade us have no more deals with the Qabarata and leave this business with her. I took her word with ill mood since the Qabarata will leave soon. At our leave, we ran into my brother Devaeas, who had news of qoelu-spoor within dayfare of the City. Even grimmer, he got word of a queenslayer’s sight. He read the time now to gather a hunt. I beread that, if the qoelu-spoor is so great as he told, then the Citadel must rouse. I bade him tell Lady-Mother while Remaue and I hastened to the Citadel, where we told Lady-Captain. I shared Devaeas and Elarue are doughty qoelu-hunters, and that with her leave I would bring them on any huntfare. She yaysaid, and also read I seemingly have some willing warriors to follow me (though she spoke no word of a flag), and that I should gather them. Thrillingly we left to find our friends and Krastaes.

The Two Hand trait is an incredibly useful trait because you basically get a 1 hander and a 2 hander on one set of runes and switching from 2 to 1 hand is free.

Somewhat unforelookedly, I got called to Lady-Captain’s stallroom. There I found not only her but also Master-Captain Dosuesh. With them stood Krastaes, whom I had overcome in the foot-trial’s prize. When I asked what became, Krastaes knelt and laid axe at my foot. Then he spoke he found me a doughty and cunning warrior, and that he would forelook to see my worth in battle. Then he foreyielded to follow me and cleave my flag. His word took me aback, and I stammered I own no flag. He answered he would nevertheless follow as my sworn axe. While Master-Captain grinned, Lady-Captain bemarked this an odd happendom, for she told I am no wife but maiden. Krastaes answered that is an easy riddle, which got laughter from the Captains, against themselves, and made me blush hotly. Captain Dosuaesh eyed shrewdly and spoke he had heard that others had besought my ladyship, which to his mind raises inthrifty lookforth. He then asked whether I wish to stay maiden. I answered yes for now. Then he wondered what may mean if a maiden leads her own flag. Lady-Captain cast him a queer look, though he yielded not. At last, they deemed they should talk later and with others, and gave me leave. Krastaes followed me outside. I started to chide him. Yet he said he would be honored to fight under me. In shyness I knew not what to say. He bowed and left.
