🎨🎨🎨😃-for artif Ignorance
this is some crazy elephant and giraffe text especially for the little cicada who said "For artificial ignorance". The sacred winged salmon, ( of a political variety and gaiety) spake thus " Verily I shout obscenely onto you, do onto techbros as they do onto you, feed the anachronistic impediment, with words, wirds, birds, sharks, peace and deathly  bollox, phrases, nay, full chocolate sentences covered in sprinkles"

I did these postcards for KXCR's fundraiser. I read one thing about gouache I liked: if acrylics and watercolor would have a child, guache would be their offspring. It's like watercolor but it is opaque like acrylics. #artyear2026 #gouache

I wanted to post some art that I just finished today, but I don't have a good photo of it yet, so please enjoy this sketchbook spread from the archives.

sunset #sketchbook painting. I gave this one a slight digital touch up, because I didn't feel like getting the airbrush out just to blend the sun, and because the camera never gets the color right

Project 5: Watercolor and Gouache Practice

Another group of paintings with a wider assortment of topics. Here I was trying to practice adding more texture and stylization to the paintings.

1: A torn piece of paper that is trisected into 3 “frames” by masking tape. The leftmost painting is a blue gem with a diamond cut between two branches. Around it there is an area with no paint which, thanks to the white paper, gives the illusion of a glowing effect against the blue background within the picture. The center image depicts a cotton plant. While the stem and sky are depicted using green and blue paint respectively, the cotton of the plant is rendered using the white space of the paper (by leaving the area blank). The rightmost drawing is upside down but depicts a sun rising over a green landscape in a blue sky. The sun’s shape is implied by simply using the white of the paper to create a shape with no paint.
2: A torn piece of paper that is trisected into 3 “frames” by masking tape. The leftmost image depicts something akin to a grapefruit (with a yellow peel, orange pith, and red flesh) against a blue background. The center image is a brown-skinned forearm and hand with its palm facing upward. Three of its fingers are closed while the pointer finger is directed upward and the thumb outstretched. On the tip of the pointer finger is a small flame. The background is a shade of green. The rightmost image depicts a hand grabbing a glowing green pearl releasing waves of light from behind. The background is yellow and there is a bit of unpainted space around the peart to emphasize that it is glowing.“Watercolor Practice: Negative Space”

18 by 12 inches

Gouache paint on paper using q-tips

These paintings were an exercise in negative space. The first leftmost painting uses negative space to imply a glow, the middle one to imply the fuzz of cotton on a plant and the final one to depict the shine of a sun coming over the horizon that has been flipped upside down. The cotton plant is an oddly specific choice. I recall I was working on a different project in an “Introduction to Printmaking” class where I was exploring the foundation of violence in the forms of things like slavery at the time. So I was thinking how to tackle / depict that in a symbolic way. Ironically, I strayed away from some of the more U.S. centric imagery within that project to focus on my symbolic representations.
“Gouache Practice: Fruit and Hands”

Gouache paint, textura markers, and pencil on wet paper using brush and q-tips

Another group of paintings with a wider assortment of topics. Here I was trying to practice adding more texture and stylization to the paintings. The paintings on the middle and right respectively delve into some more fantasy imagery.
