Zoro's autistic traits - Candy in a Cave
Fic link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/85867706

I used a lot of different autistic traits for Zoro, some he has canonically, some that can be extrapolated, and some that I thought just fit his character. The canon ones are in italics.

If you guys want to know more about this, you can research autistic traits of course, but especially the notion of "monotropism" that, I think, fits extremely well with Zoro's functioning.
I couldn't list everything because there's a lot in canon, and the fic is long, so feel free to add your own notes in the comments, I'm curious!

List of traits that show in the fic
Slow processing and difficulty to multitask

It takes Zoro a full brain loop to understand he's gonna have to sleep with Sanji.
He has a hard time focusing on thinking and facing a situation at the same time (Candy in the cave, opponents in general, needs time to process said situation).
Sanji has noticed, so he tries to give him time to think about his answers. He double checks or gives precisions. (It happens outside the cave as well.)
Zoro focuses on the sex and ends up forgetting why they're having sex in the first place.

summary: The problem with being a crew made up almost entirely of alphas and omegas, and being stuck together out on sea in a relatively small vessel, is self-evident.

Put like that, the current situation had practically been unavoidable. So they might as well enjoy it.

OR: Strawhat fuckpile. Minus Chopper, and sort of minus Brook. Yep.

#fanficfriday I guess it's silly to share a @donutsandcoffee fic considering the fame, but just in case someone missed out…

I come back to this fic regularly to appreciate the pace, the humor and the characterization.

Great example of POV outsider mastery as well!

Summary
Zoro gets lost, Sanji gets captured by the marines, the Strawhats break into the ship's prison, and they all escape with a bang.

Not exactly in that order, much to the confusion of Sanji's cellmates.
