I almost forgot to post a bee photo! Soph is busy this week, so we all have to do our part. Here is one at work taking nectar from a sneezeweed flower (Helenium Autumnale).

A Common Carder Bee, fuzzy yellow and white body arched and black legs gripping it in place, sits on the yellow centre of a white, pink-edged Cosmos flower. A car comes around the corner of the road to the right, only a few feet away, beside a narrow pavement that leads to the local pub and then the village green. The plant sways as the vehicle rushes past but the bee, with large eyes focused on the nectar-rich bloom and thin tongue slipped down into the heart of the flower, is oblivious, focusing on its work as Autumn advances.

A BumbmeBee, black legs, outstretched downwards, grips the yellow centre of a magenta-coloured Michaelmas Daisy flower with its slightly upturned petals. The insect's fuzzy amber and white jacket is partly hidden beneath its glistening veined wings, that are folded neatly above its body. A #WeeBee on a blue Ceratostigma/plumbago flower in my front garden. I have these plants in several borders because #Bees love them so. For a change, this one is a Buff-tailed Bumblebee rather than the ubiquitous Common Carder.
