Our books know better than our plans do! #ukteenchat

Time is a luxury! I'm also holding down two jobs. I have to write 2 more Elizabeth Darcy Investigates books in the next year! #ukteenchat

And don’t forget the surprise one who suddenly inserts themselves into the story and won’t push off not matter how hard you try to get rid of them!
#ukteenchat

I think that's the sign of a healthy book. The things that should happen do happen. #ukteenchat

9, Can you tell us anything about what you’re currently working on? @katewiseman.bsky.social #ukteenchat #TheWitchBottle

Yes! It's good to have that opportunity, I think. #ukteenchat

Thank you. I tried to make her that way. I'd quite like to be her, tbh. #UKteenchat

This is exactly it, I can plan all I like but when I actually write it comes out different anyway lol #ukteenchat

Me too! He was completely potty, which is appropriate bearing in mind the name of his programme. #UKteenchat #michaelbentinespottytime

Ah yes, series needs the book plot and the series plot, unless you write the whole thing before you publish but who has the time 🙈 #ukteenchat

Me too. It has it's benefits, don't you think? But already I'm finding that characters won't do what I planned for them to do. #UKteenchat

That's me! A pantser by inclination but a plotter by necessity. Is that you too? #ukteenchat

It sounds so good! You'll have to come back on the chat to talk all about it closer to the release date 😊 #ukteenchat

Yes, that's how I've always worked. For the new series, because it IS a series, I had to come up with 3 detailed plots to submit at the same time. It was very hard for me! #ukteenchat

Or plotser 😅 #ukteenchat

I've also had to evolve to be a bit of a plotter, I never thought I'd see the day 🤣 #ukteenchat

Thank you. It's a new series of cosy crimes based on Jane Austen's characters. Basically, Lizzie and Darcy go intothe world of one of her books and investigate a murder/several murders. It's a wonderful chance to kill off the JA characters I don't like. #UKteenchat

8, Do you have any writing rituals or a favourite place to write? @katewiseman.bsky.social #ukteenchat #TheWitchBottle

Best way to be, have an idea what you want then go on the adventure! Tidy-ups can come later 😳😂 #ukteenchat

I'm currently more drawn to YA, but then I like to flit between the age groups 😅 #ukteenchat
