innocence lost in so many ways went from scared middle schooler to a drunken goddess from a dork dressed by Mom to fishnets and push-up bras and having my choice of boys to go home with trying to figure out who I am without parents controlling my every move getting into trouble because I was only taught to say no to drugs but never no to men (because who would want a fat chick?) they felt free to use my body as I either take my mind elsewhere until they climb off of me or revel in being their whole world for a few sweaty minutes innocence lost PTSD gained and addictions to cope with it all

A poem by Debbie Ross entitled ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ * The 90’s passed me by in a blur of new responsibilities, keeping family together with sky-high mortgage rates and only one income. Head down, nose to the grindstone, I missed the advent of coffee shops and the internet, the rise of cheap flights. The only thing that anchored me there was the music. Not the boy bands and girl bands, Madchester and Indie rock, a dose of Brit-Pop. That first Iraq war terrified and outraged me in equal measure New Labour bowing to US Pressure. New world, old problems. The 90’s passed me by. My world was growing smaller as my husband’s rage grew larger, crushed by control. *title of a famous Oasis song

Nomads Mom used to curse my gypsy blood when I took off. She always gave me a roll of coins so I would call. Once a week and she wouldn't panic, although some calls caused that anyway. But mostly they were to relate the weirdness that was my life - well the bits I could tell her at least. A girl who escaped from the Black Lived her life off the beaten track. As a wild, reckless fool, Nomadic life was so cool. Until she was forced to go back!

Gen-X urbex vanguard now Probes the freshly-breached No Man’s Land of the Cold War; Scouts the bohemian outposts of a Siberia deemed vanquished in Prenzlauer Berg and Kraków - The End of History Convulsed by Haman’s Rape of Kuwait, his Poison-tipped scuds Primed and pointed at The Holy Land. As Teens, mounted dispatchers from Armageddon’s Badlands would Stalk their nightmares: Dream-censor admitting only the Terrifying wait before the Three-Minute Warning - Never the firestorm, poison rains or Unending solar eclipse of the Aftermath.
