Although highest shortly after treatment initiation [with #SGLT2 inhibitors], the risk [of #ketoacidosis] persists over time and should be evaluated throughout treatment. Patients should be instructed to pause treatment during acute illness and stress www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

🥗 A healthy diet lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes. But do we all benefit equally?
New DZD + DIfE research suggests that epigenetic factors may influence how strongly diet protects against diabetes, opening new possibilities for precision prevention.

And here’s the kicker, it wasn’t the codeine he had an issue with. It was the ibuprofen! I have controlled high blood pressure, and take Metformin for #T2D, also controlled. But if I wanted ibuprofen, I would need to go to my doctor and ask for a prescription. I asked for the pharmacist!

The image is a scientific diagram comparing single-time point and longitudinal repeated proteomics analyses from MESA and UK Biobank (UKB) studies. It shows the process and data flow for incident type 2 diabetes (T2D) biomarker analysis, highlighting pathways and comparison analyses. The left side details the MESA study with proteomics measurements across exams, while the right side shows UKB with a baseline measurement. Additional diagrams include a Mendelian randomization chart and a Venn diagram for pathway enrichment analyses.

Peripheral bone loss was similar in those with and without diabetes, thus bone loss does not explain the higher fracture risk in older adults with #T2D.

Read here ➡️ doi.org/10.2337/dc26-0846

A scientific poster titled "Peripheral Bone Changes Alone May Not Explain Increased Fracture Risk Reported in Some Older Adults With Type 2 Diabetes." The layout includes three main sections: "Purpose," "Methods," and "No Difference in 8-Year % Change by Glycemic Status." The "Purpose" section explains the goal of understanding fracture risk in older adults with type 2 diabetes. The "Methods" section details the study, including data from 769 participants in the Framingham Study and type 2 diabetes classification using HbA1c levels. The "No Difference" section presents a graph comparing glycemic status and bone density changes over eight years, with data points for Ct.BMD, Tb.BMD, Ct.Th, and Tb.Th.
