First book—had to check! lol—was published in 2011 with a small publisher called Noble Romance. I didn't care that it was a small pub, I was so excited! I'd spent YEARS submitting books, so it felt like an amazing first step.

The book was Rosemary Entwined, a Snow White polyam

The first thing I ever published was poetry. I had two poems in two literary magazines before my first novel came out. I've since compiled it all into a small but growing collection titled The Sibylline Menagerie.

Very young, but I wrote my first stories around 5 or 6. They were about unicorns and surprisingly dark for that age lol My grandmother was an artist & she used to encourage me to continue writing, always asking 'what happens next?'

I was very invested in the unicorns

I was very young. According to family, I was probably 3-4 when I would start to tell stories to my mom, grandma, and uncle. I started writing them down the best I could once I began learning how to write when I was 6.

1. I've played tabletop RPGs since I was a kid.

2. I love visiting zoos and taking photos of the animals.

3. I play Irish whistle.

The first thing I wrote for submission was when I was 13, everything before that was just stories in my head.

It wasn't till my late 20s I started sharing micro-fictions online.

But a lot of ideas written and never shared

I started writing short stories in elementary school. My mom kept one from K or 1st. Super basic, obviously, but that was the start. By 4th grade I was writing enough that my parents gave me my own typewriter. #SpoonieAuthChat

In second grade, I had to write an essay about America. My teacher submitted it to an essay contest, which it won. She told me I should think about being a writer.

I guess I was impressionable enough to believe her. 😁

I was 9 when I realized people wrote books and I instantly wanted to write my own. I wrote my first story on Christmas Day -- or rather, the first chapter. That story would go on to become my paracosm and stick with me for 10 years before I finally began writing other things.
