@gregmorosoff.bsky.social19 Ninety Fucking Four
While I feel that cynicism is a crutch, every other word in this song still rings true.
"Do you accept what you are told
Without even thinking?
Throw it all and make your own
And give me something"
I'll give you something
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialEvery morning, when I look through the news outlets, I am so far past outrage; that, I just feel sick to my stomach.
Fuck the dystopia they want, and have, inflicted on is.
Get sick of it
"For lunch, that's all you get to taste
Poverty and spit"
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialNineteen Eighty Fucking Seven
The beds are still burning
"How can we dance when our earth is turnin'?
How do we sleep while our beds are burnin'?"
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialWhen Aerosmith was good, they were really good.
To kick off the beginning of Spooky Season, this one seemed appropriate.
Also, the lyrics in this are great.
"In time bound to lose your mind
Live on borrowed time"
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialWhen everything is factored down, all I really want for us is to have a really good time.
It's what makes us; and, NOT them.
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialBelieve it or not...
It is an hour away from my Caturday Night Playlist.
10pm PST
Yes, there is a loose theme.
I feel like crap; but...
A DJ has to keep spinning
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialI'll end tonight with one that has been in a couple of movies; but, I am including it because it just seems so metaphorically correct.
You look up the lyrics.
It is more true now than when they wrote it.
I hope you enjoyed at least one song.
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialFrom Let Us Prey (2014)
The movie's concept has been done before; but, this is the best of the bunch.
8 of 10, in genre
Also, I really like this song.
Pollyanna McIntosh and Liam Cunningham were perfectly cast.
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialFrom one of the best teenage Metal movies ever, Metal Lords (2022)
Definite 8.5 of 10, in genre
This really is a great, fun, movie.
Also, some great cameos.
Not for little kids
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialIf you really haven't seen Empire Records (1995) you must have slept through the 90s; or, weren't born yet.
Rene Zellweger looks like she had mass fun.
"I feel so funny deep inside
When I lick between your thighs"
C'mon. This is a great line.
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialFrom Strange Days (1995), a vastly under rated movie.
A solid 7 of 10
Juliette Lewis sang the songs, with coaching from P.J. Harvey; whose songs she covered
"I'll play the part
I'll open this mouth wide
Eat your heart"
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialFrom a somewhat prophetic movie. The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) 5 Years before 9/11
Nena Cherry live is awesome
"In this godless land that delivered me
I've cried so many tears even the blind can see"
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialWhile The Crow 2 was a pretty bad move, it had one of the best soundtracks of all time.
Linda and Grace. Mmmm. A couple great voices.
Iggy Pop was kind of fun as the bad guy.
"With no regret
I guess that's just the way I liked it"
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialI'll start the movie songs with this one.
"Just be still with me
You wouldn't believe what I've been through"
This is another I'd do as karaoke, just for lyrics like this.
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialIf you don't know Emma Ruth Rundle, you are welcome.
This is a great team up with Thou.
This whole album is amazing.
Since most of the songs for tonight are from movies... Hollywood seemed essential.
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialI'm going to start tonight's playlist with a song that isn't from a movie; because, this one is just good.
I do so like Chan Marshall (Cat Power)
All but a couple of the other songs on tonight's playlist are from movies.
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialThis little kitten of cuteness is wondering when #SorcerersPlaylist for Caturday night starts
10pm PST
Mostly songs from movies, this week. Mostly.
Don't upset the kitten. Tune in.
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialAlmost Caturday.
Every Caturday night at 10pm PST, I am doing what I hashtag as #SorcerersPlaylist.
I do no more that 10 songs each time.
So...
Tune in Blue ones.
I am always hoping someone likes at least one song I post.
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialHope you liked at least one of tonight's playlist.
I'm going to do a Caturday Night playlist every Saturday night at 10pm
Like the DJ I could have been, I do take requests.
Comment or DM requests, if anyone has any.
Thanks for being you.
Keep it real.
@gregmorosoff.bsky.socialI'll end tonight with this one.
"I won't go down
Acting the same old play
Give sixty days for just one night
Don't think I'd make it but then I might"
I might.
Help each other blue ones.
"With you there to help me, then it probably will"
