I didn't get to contribute much, but thanks for this, Steph.

For books, if you're a fan of quick reads, dynamic characters, and epic sci-fi sports combat a la "Rocky" meets "Sword Art Online", look no further than "King of Blades".

Cara is the only one that starts with a job. She was captain of the city guard with aspirations of being knighted during peace time. She does enjoy the job and tries to be fair. It becomes a bit more difficult when she falls in love with the woman the bishop covets.

Akieryon ran away from his job as a Demonslayer because he had no choice at the time. If it was safe to go back, he might.

Tharaiyelagh is a scribe, and also learning politics. He’s passionate about what’s good for his people, so he will probably do well.

Prophecies: Gallara is a freelance landscape architect. Experimenting with other people's garden layouts and flower combinations is fine, but she'd rather be working in her own garden.
The other Prophecies MCs are drifters, old or new.

Gwydion from the Masqued Sorcerer is a spellcaster for a living. Specifically, a Phlegmatic one. He does sort of like it, but it involves a lot of dark work. But so does every job in the world.

Eventually, he does find something he's more suited for to do, instead of bouncing from place to place.

The main cast is teens, so a lot of them don't know what they'd want past this. Still, they each found their own spot aboard the ship, so I'd say they're generally happy with that~

#Septversary Day 6: Passionate about work

POV is a grad student in anthropology. He's more passionate about not having to get a real job than anything else.

MC is an anthropologist passionate about making a name for himself & lasting "glory." He doesn't care so much how he does it.

#Septversary The WIP is what happens when you force a vampire who only know how to torture people and love his wife to work for a superhero agency. He complains a lot about it because he's so oppressed.

The chaos gremlins overcharge for shady black-ops & cause more collateral damage (to corrupt organizations) than necessary. They are very passionate about causing corrupt orgs as much trouble as possible & overcharging for ops they'd do for the public good while humiliating them is fun

A6. Ari is extremely passionate about what is essentially mechanical engineering in a steampunk setting. Ari is a brilliant inventor w/ a great skill for people-first work, so it was heart-breaking he stifled himself so much -- but the passion never disappeared.
