@bear604.bsky.social@fairvote.ca The reason we're stuck with First Past The Post is because rather than simply advocating for #RankedChoiceVoting we repeatedly insist on tying it to #ProportionalRepresentation schemes that try to restructure legislatures instead of just our ballots. #canpoli #bcpoli
@fairvote.bsky.socialDoes ranked choice voting help Democrats or Republicans?
Neither. Ranked choice voting is totally party-neutral.
Republicans & Democrats have won #RankedChoiceVoting elections across the country. RCV simply makes sure candidates need support from a majority of voters to win.
@fairvote.bsky.socialThe 2026 primary season is over, and it put a spotlight on the need for ranked choice voting.
We cover that, 3 cities voting on RCV in November, and much more in the latest FairVote News Update.

@bigender-tomboy.bsky.socialThis is what Ike warned about nearly 7 decades ago. The #GOP Platform of 1956 is nothing like the #Republican Platform of 2026. This is just ludicrous. We need #RankedChoiceVoting, #ProportionalRepresentation, and a multi-member Executive.
@betterballotsc.bsky.socialReady to try some cake? We have a great volunteer opportunity where we can not only talk about the benefits of #InstantRunoffVoting, but also host a chocolate cake contest!

@thewineprince.bsky.socialIt’s a sad sad state in the US when you’re glad Congress is on a long taxpayer financed vacation so Republicans can’t hurt anyone else … for a while.

@thegeekprofessor.bsky.socialVoter suppression; possible actual hacking; massive misinformation campaign.... yeah, people need to vote, but voting also needs to be far more accessible and far more effective too.
We need to stop harassing voters and start harassing our elected reps who aren't acting.
Also, #RankedChoiceVoting.
