When you look at your state's dot, if it is at the lower left you are doing fairly well, if your state's dot is at the upper right, too many of the babies in your state die too early.

I haven't figured out how to label these by party so here are the states grouped by how they vote. When I look at them I see the Democrat voting states dominating the lower left, low Trump vote and death rates, of the graph and the Republican voting states, high Trump vote and high death rates, dominating the upper right part of the graph.

Here we look at a different age group, 20-64, and show the state percent supporting Trump and this age group's death rates by state for 2024. Notice that a death rate of 500 is a little more than twice as high as Hawaii. Also note where the states that provide the strongest support for Trump politically show high death rates again.

Here is a look at what I consider one of the worst causes of death, it takes most of these death in very early adulthood, being shot by gun! Here we can see an increase in state gun death rates as states voted more for Trump. The odds are that the people who shot them were in the same state that counts their death as one of theirs. This is the third analysis I have presented here that shows a specific undesirable death and how states that voted more for Trump suffer more gun deaths. I find gun deaths more disturbing because they kill people after society has spent so much time, effort and money raising them only to have them die when they are getting ready to contribute to society.

The thing I find strange about this graph is the the two high gun death states are so different. Wyoming is about the most Republican voting state while New Mexico is a solid Democratic voting state. New Mexico has shown this odd trait in dozens of graphs I have produced and I still haven't figured out what is going on.

A crude definition of life expectancy is it is the age by which half the people die. I have a couple of problems with this graph, the first is that the dark color shows the good trait, living longer, while I feel the opposite shading makes more sense to me. The second problem is the small New England states don't get labeled. So, here they are:
