The Supreme Court also demanded names, not promises, authorities must identify the officers responsible for vulnerable areas and each women's safety program, and disclose whether those programs actually work, what they cover, how many cases they handle and their response times. #OpDeathEaters

Delhi previously received funding for a promised 10,000 camera in 2022, it hasn't materialised. The Supreme Court ultimately called the situation a "systemic failure" of law enforcement and civil authorities and ordered audits of lighting, CCTV and vulnerable areas. #OpDeathEaters

Women students held massive marches demanding accountability, "Curfew for Rapists, Not Women." Now the Supreme Court has ordered authorities to map vulnerable areas, audit lighting and CCTV, identify responsible officers and report on whether women's safety programs actually work. #OpDeathEaters

The case sits inside a much larger crisis. South Africa’s police watchdog registered 116 rape cases against police officers in 2025/26—up from 98 the previous year. In 72 of those 116 cases, the officer was reportedly on duty. #OpDeathEaters
